The Team


Chris "the Captain" Jeffery:  Since LocalUp’s inception, Chris has been a key architect behind the company’s business model, distribution strategy, stakeholder relations, product development, and financial modeling.  Additionally, he is responsible for evaluating future acquisitions and partner relations.  Chris is also heavily involved in the day-to-day operations and manages sales and marketing efforts in company owned markets, which has allowed him to successfully train and support licensees in all aspects of the business model.  Chris attended Pennsylvania State University, where he earned a B.S. in Finance.  He was recently recognized as the Penn State University, Bischoff Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR).


Steve "the Dev" Saporta: Steve was hired to lead and oversee LocalUp’s technology development objectives and to meet company goals and milestones.  His first entrepreneurial experience was with Midi, Inc. Starting as Midi's third employee, he worked on numerous interactive video and e-learning projects, rising to the rank of Chief Technology Officer.  After the acquisition of Midi by SAI Global, Steve stayed on in the role of Technology Manager, Americas, overseeing the design, development, hosting and support of web-based applications serving more than one million users.  Steve has been a presenter at venues such as The Training Conference and Streaming Media East as well as a guest lecturer at The College of New Jersey.  Steve received his degree in Computer Science from Princeton University.


Jason "the Money Man" Kwicien:  Jason is one of the two founding management team members of LocalUp and is Chief Operating Officer. Since LocalUp’s inception, Jason has had general management responsibility for the company’s operations and has overseen accounting functions, customer service functions, and HR functions, and has been a key architect behind the company’s technology infrastructure that supports its service offerings. He is responsible for the company’s interaction with its three major constituencies: licensees, restaurant owners and site users/consumers. Jason attended Pennsylvania State University, where he earned a B.S. in Marketing.

Jennifer "how can I help you?" Koren:  Jen began her career with LocalUp as the Call Center director and since has been promoted to VP of Communities & Support, making her an expert on the functionality and support of the Online Ordering and CMS platforms. She oversees and manages all the training manuals and tutorials/videos on setting up and maintaining the CMS as well as all procedures on how to communicate with the Call Center for Online Ordering. As VP of Communities she manages both the internal and external communities for LocalUp to maintain seamless training, support and communication between all stakeholders.




Mike "the Analyst" Glenn:  Mike began his career with LocalUp as a content management technician after 34 years as a process development chemist with FMC Corporation in Princeton, NJ. He has since taken on responsibilities as VP of Analytics, where he provides marketing and accounting analytical support to the management team and LocalUp licensees. His responsibilities in this role also include managing and maintaining internal and third party reporting and business intelligence applications.




Kyle Fritz: Kyle Fritz joined LocalUp in October 2011 as Vice President of Engineering. He received a BS from Johns Hopkins in 2007 in Biomedical Engineering. Kyle is passionate about technology and about Baltimore. He's an organizer of the annual Betascape technology festival and a member of Baltimore's Ruby, Javascript and MSDN Meet-Ups. Kyle loves the internet but hates computers; he wants to bring content to users in a connected, real-time way across platforms.


Charles Martucci: Charles recently joined the team as Director of UX, and is responsible for overseeing all parts of the LocalUp user experience. Inspired by a desire to make technology useful, compelling, and enjoyable, he’s excited to see how advances in mobile technology can benefit the next generation of LocalUp products. Charles is a graduate of New York University, and over the years has worked closely with companies and brands such as Gannett, Mashable, Pew Research Center, Safeway, Snickers, Novartis, and MTV, among others. When he’s not busy experimenting with responsive layouts, mobile technology, and data visualization, he enjoys photography, rock climbing, and quality cheap eats. 

Brian Sierakowski: Brian is LocalUp's first Product Manager, tasked with making sure that the Development, Design, and Business teams are aligned. His primary role is as an advocate for the end user, making sure that the LocalUp experience is consistently excellent. Pulling from a diverse history, Brian has served in many different roles within dev, design, and business teams, including experience as a Sales Engineer, a Frontend Support Engineer, and as the Director of Business Development. Aside from LocalUp, Brian also hosts a show on Product Management, curates Startup Digest Baltimore, and serves as an advisor for the Greater Baltimore Tech Council. 





Cullen Newton: Cullen is LocalUp's Vice President of Corporate Development, heading up all licensing matters. Prior to joining the LocalUp team, Cullen worked for several years as an attorney at a law firm in Washington, DC. Cullen received his BA from Princeton University, and his JD from Vanderbilt University Law School






Evelina "the Menu Maven" Blanche:
  Evelina began her career with LocalUp as a Content Representative and was quickly promoted to Online Ordering Content Manager making her an expert on the functionality of our Online Ordering System. She manages all work flow that passes between Licensee & Restaurant that pertains to their Online Ordering menu to ensure accurate and timely completion of all requests. Evelina also plays a key role in improving our Content Department by assisting with the implementation of more automated and efficient processes to guarantee satisifcation from all our customers. Evelina attended University of Maryland Baltimore County, where she earned a B.A. in Psychology.




Nidhi "the Devette" Bhargava: Nidhi started up with LocalUp as a programming intern responsible for supporting and enhancing the framework for the content management system and online ordering system using .NET technologies. Her first out of school development experience was with HCL India where she worked for two years in mobile and embedded systems. Nidhi brings strong logical reasoning and programming experience to the LocalUp development team. She completed her undergraduate studies in Information Technologies from India and attended the University of Maryland Baltimore County for her graduate level studies, where she earned a M.S. in Information Systems.
